faq
the questions people actually ask.
is this real money?
The wallet, the deposits and the SOL→USDC swaps run on Solana mainnet with real funds. The card runs on Stripe Issuing’s sandbox: real authorization decisions and real onchain settlement, but it cannot be used at a merchant until the production card program is live.
do you hold my money?
No. The wallet is yours, created and secured by Privy. You grant one permission that lets PaidDebit swap incoming SOL and move USDC out when your card is charged — nothing else — and you can revoke it any time. PaidDebit’s settlement wallet only ever receives what a purchase pulled.
what does it cost?
PaidDebit charges nothing in v1. You pay Solana network fees (a small SOL reserve stays in the wallet for that) and the swap spread on Jupiter. Paid applies its own split before anything reaches you.
what if Paid pays me in a token instead of SOL?
It lands in your wallet and shows in your feed as received, but it is not converted. Only SOL is auto-swapped in v1.
when can I actually tap to pay?
When the Stripe Issuing + Bridge card program is approved. The app is built for that rail — cards then spend USDC straight from your wallet — but onboarding takes weeks and needs KYC, so v1 stays in sandbox.
are you affiliated with Paid?
No. PaidDebit is an independent project. Paid, pump.fun and X are separate companies; their names appear only to describe where the money comes from.
